Becoming a member

This means you are becoming a part owner of OCCU. With $100 membership share on deposit, as a stakeholder you have many privileges. Members may vote on any of our bylaw changes presented at the Annual General Meeting of Members, vote, or if qualified be elected as a member of the Board of Directors. Let’s not forget about our Profit-Sharing Program, the more business you do with us, the greater your share! Based on year end financial results, we target to pay dividends on your membership shares, bonus interest on deposits and interest rebates on loans. Discover the difference! Members also have the opportunity to purchase additional membership shares up to a maximum aggregate value of $1000.

Membership Requirements

  • $100 Membership Share on deposit

  • Members are required to provide one (1) piece of photo identification or two (2) pieces of non-photo pieces of identification

Photo ID

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Valid Canadian Passport

  • Valid Ontario Identification card

  •  Current pay stub for each borrower

  • Most recent Notice of Assessment for each borrower

  • T4 for each borrower

  • Proof of Child Tax Benefits or Pension Income (if applicable)

  • Mortgage Charge

  • Current mortgage statement

  • Proof of property taxes paid up to date

  • Copy of the current house insurance
